Am I a good candidate for a non-surgical facial procedure?
The best candidates for non-surgical facial procedures are either in their 30s or 40s and are typically not ready for a major cosmetic surgery. At the same time, they are noticing fine lines and wrinkles and would like to look their best. These types of patients are very good candidates for non-surgical cosmetic procedures.
Other good candidates for non-surgical procedures are those who have already undergone cosmetic surgery at some point, but would like to maintain a fresh appearance or may have trouble spots that require the targeted approach that non-surgical procedures can offer.
Because no surgical procedure can stop the aging process, non-surgical cosmetic procedures are often ideal for maintaining one’s appearance.
Why are non-surgical procedures so popular?
1. All non-surgical facial plans are customized and tailored to your needs.
While each surgical plan is unique, there are specific techniques used in facelifts or other procedures that are standard. With non-surgical techniques, facial filler injections can be controlled down to the millimeter. You can also see your results in real time and dialogue with your doctor to add more filler where you feel you need it. A facelift adjusts the skin from the edges of the face, but fillers are injected directly at the site of the wrinkle for direct impact.
2. Non-surgical facial procedures require little to no recovery time.
Many people opt for in-office facial rejuvenation during their lunch breaks. While there may be redness and some swelling, this is usually minimal. Compare that to the bruising, swelling, scarring and multi-week recovery time of a cosmetic surgery, and you can see why so many people are opting for minimally invasive non-surgical techniques.
3. The risks associated with non-surgical procedures are minimal.
Because there are no major incisions, there is less chance of infection and complication as a result of injectables. Non-surgical procedures do have some risks, but modern techniques and products have minimized these. Doctors are now skilled at avoiding allergic reactions and non-optimum results.
4. Results can be modified with time.
The other benefit of non-surgical results is that they don’t last forever. Wait, you may be thinking, I want to look young for as long as possible. And non-surgical procedures can help you with that. But unlike a surgery that lasts for years, decades or even the rest of your life, non-surgical procedures allow you to modify your results over time. This is ideal for those people who don’t know exactly what they want or are concerned about changing their look. Non-surgical procedures usually last for a period of months and require touch-up appointments to maintain results. If you would like a more or less dramatic change, all you need to do is say so and Dr. Aminpour can help you with that.
